
Dr. Uchenna Nlebedum received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from University of Nigeria, Nsukka and obtained his Masters Degree from the same university. In his Master’s dissertation, he evaluated the developmental morphology of the eyeball of the Red Sokoto Goat. He moved to the United States and joined the Comparative Ocular Pathology Laboratory of Wisconsin (COPLOW) and the Gamm Laboratory both at University of Wisconsin, Madison. He joined the MRLT Lab as a PhD student working with Dr. Sara Thomasy. His project focuses on degenerative retinal diseases by characterizing the phenotype and identifying the mutation responsible for a novel type of progressive retinal atrophy in racing Greyhounds. He enjoys reading and spending time with family.
