Bio

Dr. Nayone Lantyer-Araujo graduated with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from the Federal University of Bahia, Brazil in 2014. She then pursued a Master's degree in 2016, followed by a Ph.D. degree in 2020 from the same university, where she studied the tear film composition and ocular morphology of lizards, foxes, dogs, and rabbits. Dr. Araujo has extensive experience in clinical diagnosis and surgical therapeutical approaches in both companion and wild species. She recently joined COVSL as a post-doctoral fellow and is working with Dr. Brian Leonard. Her project focuses on studying a new therapeutic for evaporative dry eye disease and its impact on ocular surface stability. Her research interests include ocular surface disease, dry eye syndrome, and corneal wound healing.
