Dr. Ana Ripolles Garcia received her veterinary degree from the Complutense University of Madrid in 2015. After two years of experience in a high-volume emergency clinic, she completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Ars Veterinary Hospital in Barcelona. She then began her research career by completing a PhD at the University of Alicante in collaboration with the University of Pennsylvania. During her four years of research at UPenn, Dr. Ripolles-Garcia worked on canine models of inherited retinal diseases and the application of gene and cell therapies in the outer retina for treating blinding diseases. She was actively involved in company-based IND-enabling studies. She recently joined the UC Davis team as a postdoctoral fellow at the MRLT Lab, working under the supervision of Dr. Sara Thomasy. Her primary research interests include retinal diseases and novel therapies for canine and non-human primate models.
